Three Dog Night Rescue
ADOPT
FAQ's
-
What do you all look for in an adopter?
You must be 18+ to apply, but we evaluate each application on a case by case basis. So many different types of people make for amazing owners. We will keep it a mystery so everyone remains honest throughout the process.
-
Do you all deny applications ever?
Yes! Owning a pet is a luxury not a right. Not everyone is ready or prepared to own a dog.
-
What are the steps involved?
You apply by filling out an application, clicking on any of the "Meet XYZ" buttons above and clicking the button that pops up saying "Apply to Adopt" or fill out either main application by clicking "Adoption Application" or "Adoption Waitlist Application." After receiving your application, Louise will reach out to you within the following 3+ business days to schedule an interview. We require vet records of existing or formerly owned pets, do home inspections, and run background checks on all adopters. If approved, we will be so excited to tell you and will schedule a meeting with your potential pup and their respective foster. If the meeting goes well, you can take them home the same day!
-
Can I meet the dog/puppy first before applying?
Not unless you personally know the foster or you meet the dog/puppy at a public event. We take pride in protecting our fosters, and find it important to interview and run a background check on all people who apply so we feel confident in them meeting with our fosters and their foster pup.
-
Which application should I apply with since there are two?
Please use the "Adoption Application" if you are interested in a currently available puppy, and or you are interested in adopting within the next month. Please use the "Adoption Waitlist Application" if you are not interested in any of the currently available puppies but want to adopt from us in the future. By filling out the "Adoption Waitlist Application" you can become pre-approved, so when we intake a puppy that fits your criteria, you will be notified. Becoming pre-approved sets you up as a candidate for our fostering to adopt, which as the name implies, you will start as their foster in hopes of adopting them if they are the right fit.
-
How much does it cost to adopt?
It is $350-$500 to adopt, based on multiple factors and never on breed.
-
What do small, medium, large, and giant mean size wise?
We try to accurately predict our puppies' full grown size to the best of our ability. The ranges are the most accurate. Small is 2-22 pounds. Medium is 23-57 pounds. Large is 58-99 pounds. Giant is over 100 pounds.
